SAN FRANCISCO, November 6, 2026 – Old Potrero is celebrating the holidays with the return of Christmas Spirit, an exceptionally limited whiskey distilled from a San Francisco Christmas Spiced Ale and aged for 10 years in once-used Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey barrels. The 2026 release is limited to just 492 bottles and is bottled at 50% ABV in a 700ml format, with an SRP of $139.99.

The story begins in Potrero Hill, San Francisco, in 2015, when the Christmas Ale was brewed and then distilled twice in copper pot stills before being laid down in rye whiskey barrels for a decade of maturation. The result brings together two pieces of San Francisco drinks heritage: brewing and whiskey-making, in a spirit created specifically for the holiday season.

Christmas Spirit opens with an evolving bouquet of citrus peel, maple syrup and pine, followed by flavors of cherry, malt, sweet orange peel and spiced fruitcake. Enjoy it on the rocks or in a whiskey cocktail to add a little holiday cheer.

Each of the 492 bottles features a festive To & From neck tag, making gifting easier this year.
